Local Outreach and Evangelism

Evangelism and Outreach at Shepherd’s Fellowship consists of several activities:

1. Our theological discipleship program held twice monthly is designed to provide an open forum where differing theologies and competing world-views can be discussed in a collegial fashion by comparing and contrasting these various ideas with the Biblical worldview. Subjects of discussion would include (but not be limited to):

· The nature of man’s will versus God’s Sovereignty.

· Creation versus Evolution Issues.

· Apologetics and Philosophy.

· The impact of Secular Humanism upon our Post-modern Culture.

· Cults and other aberrant religious groups and how they’ve impacted the orthodox, evangelical Christian Church.

· Important issues involving practical theology (i.e: “What methods of evangelism are Biblical”, “How do I deal with sin in my life from a Biblical perspective?”, “What is a Biblical Theology of Worship?”, and many other such related topics).

2. Abortion Outreach Ministry.
This occurs on scheduled Saturday mornings from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. outside of “A Woman’s Choice” Abortion clinic located at 201 Pomona Drive in Greensboro, NC. Shepherd’s Fellowship of Greensboro is a church that is committed to being a regular voice in the antiabortion ministry because abortion is an act of murder that kills an innocent child. Our antiabortion outreach efforts are not like so many others that are concerned with saving a baby for just a day. Instead, we realize that the spiritual condition of the parents is the ultimate cause of their murderous intentions. Because we seek to see the mothers and fathers experience a change of heart so as to prevent them from desiring to kill their children again, we realize that only the converting power of the Holy Spirit can change their murderous intentions into sincere devotion and love for their children. Thus, prayer, sidewalk counseling, Biblical evangelism and open-air preaching is the normative methodology that we use to impress upon the hearts of these mothers and fathers of their need to turn from their sins and seek the forgiveness that can only be found in Christ alone.
